Graphic Designer, Tim Meyers, has a unique aesthetic that all of Mirror Matter has latched onto. From sketching early-stage designs for comprehensive and collaborative working sessions with our clients, to developing vendor-ready materials, his attention to detail makes sure nothing slips through the cracks.
What is your name? Do you prefer to go by a nickname?
Tim—No preference.
What is your role and what are you responsible for doing?
Graphic Designer—Being a part of the team’s creative processes.
How do you describe what you do to friends and family?
Creative designer—Working on something new every day.
What’s been your favorite project to work on?
I enjoy having the privilege to work on a variety of projects but some of my favorites have been having the chance to reimagine the Ovation BREAK-A-PART packaging and working on the Sweets & Snacks 2021 booth design.
What do you listen to when you’re working?
I listen to music 99% of the day and it’s a different genre about 99% of the time.
What was your first job? Did you like it?
My first job was working for a pizzeria. I liked my boss but some of my co-workers were wierdoughs.
How would you describe yourself?
Laid back on the outside but very critical of myself and my work.
How would you describe Mirror Matter?
A great environment that allows for one to use their specific abilities while both improving them and developing new skills in the process.
Apple or Android, and why?
Apple—Because it’s been too long to go back now.
How did you get linked with Mirror Matter?
Some ties go back as early as high school, with my close friend and founding member Jeremy Banas. Having worked with some members of the team in the past, at different companies, I made connections to the team that ultimately led to me officially joining Mirror Matter in 2020.
What part of “agency life” do you like the most?
Having the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and develop as a designer and illustrator with the support of a great team behind me.
Ideal retirement plan?
I don’t ever want to stop working.
Coffee, tea, or other?
Usually coffee but depends on the day.
What book, show, or podcast would you recommend to the world? Why?
If I had to recommend a series to the world it would probably be “The Proper People” channel on YouTube. The Proper People is an urban exploring duo who combine beautiful camerawork and a unique DIY style of storytelling. Their journeys through abandoned and often times dangerous locations, combine for a soothing and informative experience to the viewer.
Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall? Why?
I will always love the time in between when you can see the transition of each season.
What are you looking forward to most about the next year?
Continuing to challenge myself as a designer and artist, and realizing the progress I make along the way.
